Chief Scientific Adviser Kiminori Matsuyama of the Tokyo Foundation for Policy Research was invited to the Institute of New Structural Economics (INSE) of Peking University, China. He was attending a week of inauguration events as a member of INSE’s International Academic Advisory Council.

He gave guest lectures in the graduate program on December 12 and attended the Inauguration Ceremony on December 14, 2018. He also delivered a keynote speech entitled “Engel’s Law in the Global Economy: Demand-Induced Patterns of Structural Change, Innovation, and Trade” on December 16, 2018, at the fourth Winter Camp of New Structural Economics.
