On April 6, 2026, Dr. Mieko Nakabayashi, President of the Tokyo Foundation, and Dr. Yuta Komori, Director for Policy Research, held discussions with executives from the Social Science Research Council (SSRC). During the meeting, they exchanged views with Dr. William Janeway, Interim Co-President; Chair, Board of Directors; Executive Committee; Investment Committee (Professor at the University of Cambridge); Dr. Daniel L. Goroff, Special Advisor to the Board (Vice President of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation); Dr. Frederick Palm, Chief Operating Officer, regarding the research projects currently underway at our Foundation, recent international situations, and the current political and economic situations in both Japan and the United States. They also exchanged views on methods for evaluating the impact of research projects—including the compilation of policy recommendations—on national governments and the general public.

Based on our mission to contribute to solving social issues through dialogue and collaboration with diverse stakeholders, the Tokyo Foundation will continue to further deepen its partnerships with international policy research networks and work toward providing policy recommendations from a long-term perspective.
