She earned an M.A. in Journalism from the Graduate School of Political Science at Waseda University. She began her career at Yomiuri Television in 1992, serving as a social affairs reporter, London correspondent, and political reporter. In 2006, she joined Nippon Television Network (NTV) as a news anchor, moderating numerous debate and current affairs programs. Since 2017, she has served as a news commentator and has played a key role in establishing NTV’s Gender Equality Project Team to promote organizational awareness and foster a culture of diversity. Since 2022, she has been a Special Visiting Professor at the School of Policy Studies, Kwansei Gakuin University. She is also a member of the Diversity Promotion Working Group of the Japan Association for Media, Journalism and Communication Studies, and serves as Director and member of the Research Group on Diversity and Women’s Empowerment at the Society of Global Business. Additionally, she sits on the Advisory Panel for the Ministry of Defense and is active as a television commentator.
