Bio
Gaku Hashimoto graduated from the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies at Keio University in 1996 and completed his Master’s degree at the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University, in 1998. He then joined the Mitsubishi Research Institute, where he engaged in policy research and analysis.
In 2005, he was first elected to the House of Representatives and subsequently served five consecutive terms. During his political career, he held several key positions, including Vice Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare; Parliamentary Secretary for Health, Labour and Welfare; Chair of the House of Representatives Committee on Health, Labour and Welfare; and Director of the Liberal Democratic Party’s Health, Labour and Welfare Division.
Since 2025, he has served as a Specially Appointed Professor in the Department of Medical Data Science at Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare.
