Bio

After earning a law degree from the University of Tokyo, joined the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (including serving as deputy director, International Economic Affairs Division) in 1991. Served as assistant director for Aircraft and Defense Industries and deputy director for the International Economic Division (MITI ), lecturer at the University of Michigan’s Department of Political Science, and faculty fellow at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade, and Industry.
