Bio
Born in Osaka in 1981, Yasumasa Yamamoto is a specially appointed associate professor at Kyoto University and has been involved in the technology startup investment business for more than 10 years in the US and Japan. He is a specialist in emerging technologies, such as fintech, blockchain, and deep learning, and also serves as an advisor to various corporations. He was an industry analyst at Google and a senior specialist in quantitative analysis of securitized products and derivatives at the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi in New York.
He holds a master of science degree from Harvard University and a master’s degree from the University of Tokyo. He is also a Scott M. Johnson Fellow of the US-Japan Leadership Program, an Asia Society Young Professional 2016, and a certified member analyst of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan. His published books include a bestseller on mega tech trends in 2025, which has been translated internationally.
