To Confront Global Challenges: In commemoration of the 120th year of the Japan-Mexico Friendship, Commerce and Navigation Treaty
In 1888, the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation was concluded in Washington between Japan and Mexico. This treaty was the first equal one signed between Japan and Western countries. To commemorate the 120th anniversary of this treaty, the Tokyo Foundation will hold a symposium to discuss global issues shared between Japan and Mexico. This event is co-hosted by the University of Tokyo and the Embassy of the United Mexican States in Japan.
