Bio

Graduated from the National Defense Academy of Japan. Earned his master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Has served, among others, as a visiting scholar at the John M. Olin Institute for Strategic Studies of Harvard University, a senior defense attache at the Embassy of Japan in the U.S., commanding general of the Japan Ground Self Defense Force (JGSDF) Aviation School, deputy director of the National Institute for Defense Studies, and vice commandant of the JGSDF Ground Research and Development Command.
