Bio

Professor and Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts and Graduate School of Liberal Arts, Teikyo University

Graduated from Kyoto University’s Faculty of Letters in 1972 and earned a doctorate from the university’s Graduate School of Letters. Has been an assistant professor at Nara Women’s University and professor at Kyoto University before becoming professor and dean of Teikyo University’s Department of Japanese Culture. Assumed his current position in 2010.

Research Results

  • Political Parties in the Prewar Period: The Collapse of the Two-Party System, published as part of the History of the Showa Era Project  (Chikuma Shinsho, 2012)*
  • Revival of the Imperial Capital: The Years following the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, published as part of the History of the Showa Era Project  (Chuko Sensho, 2011)*
