Bio

Professor Emeritus, University of Tokyo; Director, Planetary Exploration Research Center, Chiba Institute of Technology

Earned a doctorate in science from the Faculty of Science, the University of Tokyo, in 1970. Served as a visiting research fellow at NASA and as professor at the University of Tokyo; engaged in various other activities before assuming his current position. Is now focusing on astrobiology.
