Senior Fellow, Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI); Visiting Professor, Chuo University; Research Director, Canon Institute for Global Studies

Earned his master’s degree in engineering from the School of Engineering, University of Tokyo, and doctoral degree in economics from the University of Chicago. Worked at the Economic and Industrial Policy Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and in the Minister’s Secretariat. Has worked at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry since 2001.
