Bio

Yusuke Tanaka was born in 1983 in Kanagawa, Japan. He lived in Dalian, China, from 1989 to 1991, when his father—a high school Japanese teacher—was dispatched to the Dalian University of Foreign Languages on a Japan-China exchange program. He is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at the Waseda University Graduate School of Japanese Applied Linguistics and is also a research fellow at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Pursuing both research and practice, he has helped create Japanese textbooks for use in China and South Korea. From 2009 to 2011, he taught Japanese at Fudan University in Shanghai. Areas of expertise include Japanese language teaching materials and the history of such materials.
